Autojumble for enthusiasts

BEAULIEU’s MotorMart AutoJumble no May 12 and 13 is on course to be a great success with the majority of stand space already taken. Events manager, Judith Maddox said: “There is a strong demand for stands again this year, with covered marquee space proving particularly popular, probably as a result of last year’s heavy rain at the event. However, we are confident that this year the weather will be kind to us.”

The AutoJumble will have up to 1,000 stands of motoring parts and accessories covering all motoring eras, with plenty of bargains to be had. The DealerMart, first trialed at the International AutoJumble, is now in its second year and proving very popular again. Dealers will be bringing a range of cars, from classic to quirky, most in superb condition.

The MotorMart offers a unique opportunity to view up to 200 classic cars for sale. Whether you fancy a gem or a wreck, there is something to suit all tastes and pockets. Among the vehicles for sale are a 1929 Sunbeam 18.2 coupe, a Rolls Royce Shadow II, an S-Type Jaguar in old English white and an environmentally friendly 1957 425cc Citroen 2CV.

Taking place on the Sunday only, Trunk Traders allows amateur jumblers and motoring enthusiasts to set up shop from the boot of their car, selling unused parts or redundant tools left over from a restoration project of the fruits of a garage clearout. Trading is brisk, so get there early.

The MotorMart is open from 10am-5pm on both days. There is a special on-the-day, inclusive price of £8 for adults and £6 for children, even less if booked in advance on the ticket hotline 01590 612888 or on-line at www.beaulieu.co.uk/tickts. Visitors to the event will be able to enjoy all the Beaulieu attractions, including the National Motor Museum’s latest exhibition ‘Autoglym Supercars’.
