Ottons Land Rover pitches in to help raise £1m for Red Cross
OTTONS Land Rover in Salisbury, part of the Westover Group, are encouraging local people to drop into the dealership during Red Cross Week (4-10 May) and help raise money for children across the world.
Land Rover has pledged to generate £1 million for the Red Cross and is donating funds raised in the UK by its annual Land Rover G4 Challenge - a competition which sees 18 men and 18 women from 18 countries compete in a gruelling three week long adventure. At a local level, anyone visiting Ottons Land Rover at Old Sarum during Red Cross Week can make a donation in the showroom and contribute to Land Rover’s fundraising efforts. They can also enter two prize draw competitions: one to win an ‘Adriatic Adventure’; the other to win a special edition Land Rover G4 Challenge mountain bike. To support the local fundraising drive, Ottons will also be making a donation for each vehicle sold during the Red Cross’ special week.
“We are really hoping that Ottons can rally some strong support in Salisbury for the Red Cross and anyone who visits the dealership to find out more will receive a very warm welcome – even if they simply wish to pop in and enter the competitions,” says Suzy Otton, Marketing Manager. “Who knows, they might even find themselves whisked away on an adventure holiday, or the proud owner of a new bike! The charity does amazing work supporting vulnerable children and their families across the globe, as well as in the UK. Whatever contribution people feel able to make, no matter how small, will nudge the fund closer to its £1 million target.”
The G4 Challenge is close to the hearts of staff at Ottons Land Rover, who won the G4 Trek (an inter-dealership competition, which included a series of physical tests based on the G4 Global Challenge) last year. The three-strong team which represented Ottons - and beat off 125 teams to claim the top slot - will take part in the planning recce for the forthcoming 2008/09 G4 Challenge, pushing their physical and mental strengths to the limits once again.
